Tired

So I haven't really caught up on my sleep yet. Yesterday I had a bunch of errands to run; get a new external hard drive for my comp, get a replacement iPod (mine was locking up on me, Apple doesn't fix iPods they just replace them), pick up comics, pick up Murphy, etc. Carrie had been in Chicago last weekend visiting her sister so I picked her up from the airport last night. Today I went to the grocery store.

I've got a lot of work coming up the next few months. Lots of stuff around town as well as tours with Tyrell and my CD release shows in Indy and Kalamazoo. I have two concerts booked with the Mancini Institute Alumni Orchestra. One of them is performing with Tony Bennett. I'm really looking forward to that one.

Okay, nap time before I head to my gig tonight.

    Hey bro,
just checkin' in. Some nice gigs coming in I see. Goo luck with the CD parties, too.

Our season is coming to an end here in Palm Beach and the Colony Hotel. I here Tyrell is coming back for 3 weeks next year?!?! Hope to see you then.

    Take care,

give me a call so we can work out arrangements for while you're in Alexandria.

I recently put an external hard drive in my set up as well to store all of my music files and host my Squeezebox/SlimServer. I needed more space and the physical separation 'cuz my music, iTunes and all of my media toys were screwing with processing. I like being able to just turn it off and remove all of that from my other computing. Likewise, its cool to not have to worry that what comes in over the internet can easily bother my music. Because I reallly reallyy really don't ever want to rip and tag this entire cd collection again.

Take care, you. Best to Carrie and Murphy

    Tony Freaking Bennett?

My grandfather grew up down the street from him here in Astoria, many years ago. They weren't friends or anything, but they knew of each other as Astorians.

Heya Rich and Jill! I haven't heard about another run at the Colony but it wouldn't suprise me. If it happens you guys will have to hang out with me more, that's a long time to be stuck in stuffy Palm Beach.

And Kathy, when I got my new iPod and discovered it had more memory than my computer, I knew it was time to get a new hard drive.

LOL. Gotcha. And you'll need even more, I'll bet. I've got the 60 GB iPod and about 500 GB between my two hard drives. I'm keeping my source music library in uncompressed waves for a handful of good reasons but it sure does eat up the space.

Your pc might actually have a bay for an additional internal hard drive; they're a lot less expensive (though neither kind breaks the bank). Its not a big deal to install it, either, despite what people might charge to do it for you. Just a thought.

But I definitely like my USB-external Maxtor drive. It was only about $160 for the 200 gig. Not bad...

ps---when will Carrie be "officially" finished with her Master's? This is her last semester, right?

I decided to go with an external because my next comp purchas will more than likely be a laptop. It will make transferring files a lot easier.

And Carrie is officially done with her Masters this semester. She is turning in her thesis next week.
