Cootie Brown Hilarity

If you've known me for a while then you remember Cootie Brown, my college rock band who played bars from Bloomington to Chicago and all points in between. The band was great and provided for one of the most fun periods of my life. Drummer-boy Kevy has set up a MySpace Profile for the band. So check out some of the old tunes, and dig this clip about the band from a Muncie PBS station from back in the day:

Cootie Brown Rocks! I don't think I've ever heard them before (unless they were the group at The Bar). Nice bass solo. Any chance they'll reunite this trip to Indy?

By the way, did you know that Ben Folds is touring with John Mayer this summer? I got the Mayer tickets 2 months ago and didn't find out about Ben until this week. I am going to be in heaven with my two faves. Remember when we ran into eachother at old Deer Creek Ben Folds/Foo Fighter?

Lyman, you've not been less than exceptional for one day in your life. I was COMPLETELY knocked out by you on the electric bass---you were born to be a bass player dude. As much as I dig your jazz, I'd seriously like to see more of this from you. I think I'll put it in my blog sidebar if that's OK wit'chu.

Folds and Mayer on the same stage? Oh. Oh. Oh.

I remember that Kathy (Mulder that is). That was a great show, the only time I got to see Ben Folds Five before they broke up. Did you ever go to the Bluebird in Bloomington? Cootie Brown played there a lot.

I think I'd like to see John Mayer live but I'm not sure I could stand all of the screaming 14-year old girls.

And Kathy (Mullen that is), I was watching that bass solo thinking it was pretty good. I don't think I can play electric that well anymore!

Lyman, it was beyond pretty good. Seriously. That's the kind of stuff that you either have or you don't...its yours. HOT.

I'm scouring online for tix to Mayer/Folds. Rob has grudgingly agreed to escort me if I can't find anyone else---love my husband. He probably can't stand all the screaming of middle-aged wife....

Kathy, looks like John & Ben are playing July 25 at Verizon Center in downtown DC. They are here in Indy on June 30. My husband has agreed to go with me too, but he might get a little jealous.

I didn't realize until Lyman wrote out your name, how very similar our full names are. Is your middle initial B by chance? Are you a Katherine?

Maybe the two Kathy's will meet in Indy next week!

Kbm; I noticed.a similar thing a couple of days ago over on special K's blog.. I'm just a Kathy... Kathy Jean. Funny that one particular circle of friends of mine simply always call me KHM ("kaychem").do many people call you kbm?
I do indeed think I'll see you in Indy or Mville next week!

I used to be called KT for my maiden name Taylor, but the KBM hasn't caught on until now, in the blogger world.

Glad I will get to meet you next week!

Ummm, Lym? That second video up on MySpace is, umm, painful. How high was that guy who was singing(?)?

And Darling One---you might want to have a professional makeover before doing your own stage makeup again. Because that was scary.... even for Halloween.
